Celebrating Graduates, Juneteenth, and Pride
Dear SFUSD Families:
Dear SFUSD Families,
Please join me in celebrating the Class of 2022! Graduation is a special time for students, families, teachers, and school staff alike --  years of learning culminate with this very important milestone. At all grade levels, SFUSD strives to prepare our students by developing the characteristics and competencies we call our Graduate Profile. Watch the videos linked in this newsletter to learn more about a few members of SFUSD's Class of 2022.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the SFUSD community for the past five years. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Matt Wayne who will be serving as SFUSD's next superintendent starting in July. Learn more about Dr. Wayne below.
Have a safe summer.

COVID-19 Boosters for Children Ages 5 and Up

Required immunizations for 2022-23
Make sure your child is up to date on all required immunizations for school by August 17! There may be a wait for immunization appointments with your healthcare provider, so get started as soon as possible.
School Safety and Resources
We share the grief and concern following the mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas. We have included links to some resources that you may find useful in supporting your child(ren) in times of stress and worry.
Additionally, as part of efforts to ramp up emergency preparedness, the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS) will launch at 40 SFUSD schools with students in grades 6 to 12 in the 2022-23 school year.

Juneteenth Designated as SFUSD Holiday

The San Francisco Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution designating June 19, 2022, and June 19 of each year thereafter, in the SFUSD as a special day of observance in recognition of the emancipation of all enslaved people in the United States.

Summer programming and other year round services will be closed on June 20, 2022 in observance of Juneteenth as a district holiday.

Join SFUSD at SF Pride
Our district has been a leader in providing LGBTQ+ Student Services and inclusive curriculum for nearly 30 years. Celebrate your commitment to all SFUSD students and families by being part of SFUSD's official Pride contingent at the San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday, June 26.

Ignite Potential

With the generosity of many, Spark’s Ignite Potential 2022 raised over $200,000 to support SFUSD’s African American Achievement and Leadership Initiative (AAALI). Join us in building a future where everyone thrives by donating to AAALI today. Support will help expand the Mastering Cultural Identity program.
