WELCOME MESSAGE
Celebrating Black History Month and our school counselors

This month, we recognize Black History Month. We are proud that there are many examples of how students, staff and school communities in SFUSD are uplifting the achievements and history of Black Americans all year.

We're also recognizing National School Counseling Week. School counselors work with students in many ways. Be sure to pay them a visit and give thanks for their hard work!

Finally, have you seen our new weekly student digest? It includes helpful tips on COVID-19 testing, masking, and more.

Have a great month!

SFUSD is happy to bring you resources, information, and news every month through the High School Student Newsletter. Read all of the past issues on SFUSD.edu. Please reach out with your input at newsline@sfusd.edu if you have any suggestions or comments about the SFUSD High School Student Newsletter –– we welcome your ideas.

Apply to the Title IX Student Advisory Group

The SFUSD Title IX Student Advisory Group (SAG) provides formal structure for students and SFUSD to build and collaborate on issues related to sexual harassment and assault that are occurring among our students. Through providing important feedback to the district and helping to inform students about developments of importance to them, the SAG’s mission is to elevate SFUSD student voices in the pursuit of these prevention and response efforts.

The SAG will consist of 20 SFUSD 10th-12th grade student members. For the spring 2022 semester, the appointment term will begin February 2022 and end June 2022. Some members of the spring 2022 SAG will continue into the 2022-2023 academic year.

Members are expected to participate in virtual meetings hosted by SFUSD's Office of Equity once per month. There will be four meetings during the spring 2022. Meetings are from 4:30-6:30 on the fourth Wednesday of every month starting in February.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 25.
