Thank you for being with us and taking care of yourself and others during this difficult time.
In the past few days the SF Department of Public Health (SFDPH) has updated some guidance. Please read the guidance that pertains to staff. For guidance that pertains to students, please see this information going out to families.
If you have not done so already, please get your COVID-19 booster immediately if you are eligible. Public health agencies are urging all eligible individuals to get vaccinated to prevent the worst symptoms of COVID-19, and to get boosted to obtain an extra dose of protection. Even though the demand for COVID-19 boosters remains high, the SFUSD community can access free COVID-19 vaccines and boosters in multiple ways and we continue to work with SFDPH to share more opportunities:
-
Make an appointment through your primary healthcare provider.
-
Visit sf.gov/getvaccinated or call SFDPH COVID Resource Center at 629-652-2700 to check availability and/or make an appointment at a vaccination clinic near you.

In Memoriam: George Ishikata
SFUSD joins in mourning the loss of Col. George Ishikata, San Francisco’s Director of JROTC instruction, who died unexpectedly Dec. 30, 2021.
Col. Ishikata graduated from Lowell High School, and served a long career in the U.S. Army, retiring as a colonel after 30 years of active service. Upon retirement from active duty, Col. Ishikata served as the JROTC teacher at Lincoln HS where he taught, coached, and mentored thousands of SFUSD students. SFUSD is grateful to Col. Ishikata for his years of service to the country and SFUSD.
