WELCOME MESSAGE
Celebrating inclusivity

This week we celebrated Inclusive Schools Week. We hope you had the opportunity to learn more about inclusivity in your classrooms or through the 2021 Inclusion Resource Guide, and maybe even built yourself a Peace Corner. Perhaps you took part in virtual events or got to submit a creative piece for the Online Inclusive Arts Showcase. If you didn't, no worries! Every day is a good day to learn more about disabilities and the intersection of disabilities with other categories of identity, like race, gender, class, cultural heritage, language preference and other differences. Education and awareness can be powerful tools to bridge across these differences and enable us to find our voices and be appreciated for our unique selves.

We're almost at the halfway point of the school year! Winter Recess is from December 20 to December 31 and classes resume on Monday, January 3, 2022. We hope you have a chance to rest and spend time doing something you love.

See you in 2022!

A Message from SFUSD Superintendent Dr. Matthews and the Office of Equity

"We are reaching out to share our thoughts about recent advocacy on the part of students to raise awareness about sexual harassment and assault. Our hope is to increase education and awareness about the reporting processes, and to be transparent about the limitations we may have given the scope of our oversight. We want to outline the steps that the District is taking to continue to prioritize responding to this issue."
Know Your Rights: Nondiscrimination Policy

The Board of Education desires to provide a safe school environment that allows all students equal access and opportunities in the District's academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities.

Learn About Cal Maritime

Did you know that one of our local CSU campuses, Cal Maritime, is one of the best CSUs at graduating students in 4-5 years? If you are interested in hands-on learning - Engineering, Global Studies, Business, or Oceanography - consider this hidden gem of a CSU, located near SF in Vallejo. You can even earn a license to drive a large ship! The small size of the campus makes it feel like a private school education, for a CSU price. Myth: it is NOT a military campus, but it is structured after the naval industry.
