Students from Lowell and Balboa High School Lead Youth Advocacy Efforts
Winnie, a senior at Lowell High School (on left), and Toby, a senior at Balboa High School (on right), both found their voices and leadership through PACA, a youth-led advocacy organization. They gained the skills and confidence to become active changemakers in their SFUSD school community. With PACA’s support, they returned to their SFUSD schools, bringing more passionate youth into PACA’s summer cohort and empowering them to launch impactful projects focused on issues like climate awareness, menstrual hygiene, and more.
Now, as seniors, Winnie and Toby are preparing to pass down their roles, equipping other SFUSD students with the leadership skills they developed through PACA. Their dedication has not only strengthened their school communities but also inspired the next generation of youth advocates to lead and grow.
