In honor of Black History Month, Fa'aSamoa Initative team would like to send a huge shout out and Congratulations to Laticia Erving, Director of African American Achievement & Leadership Initiative (AAALI), for receiving this year's SF NAACP Educator Award at the 2025 Freedom Fund Gala! Spring 2025 | In case you missed it...
On February 13, 2025 - SFUSD, Ms.Epenesa Taylor (PreK Samoan Dual Teacher), Herbert "Coach" Wylie Ilalio (NH&PI Coordinator), and UrsulaAnn Siataga (Sp.Assist.Sup') were on AOGA AMATA 3rd International Webinar presenting on the journey of launching a Samoan Dual Language Learner Pathway.in Early Education at SFUSD. 4.6K views for their first webinar together, and many who joined in to listen were Early Education teams from Australia, Samoa, Aotearoa New Zealand, Hawaii and California. The webinar was conducted in both Samoan and English and our Fa'aSamoa Initiative team was honored to take part and share brightspots of the program. [photo cred: Faye Ia]
