The Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF) is a youth-led grant program of Urban Services YMCA of San Francisco. YEF awards grants of up to $10,000 for a range of youth-led projects including school clubs, small businesses, organizations, and more.
Want to get a taste of college?
City College of San Francisco (CCSF) and SFUSD have partnered to offer high school students access to college classes. You can earn college credit while in high school.
Are you civic minded?
If you're 16 years old by the next Election Day, Nov. 5, you can apply to work as a poll worker for a stipend of up to $295. Also, If you are 16 or 17 years old, you may pre-register to vote online. Your registration will become active on your 18th birthday.
Eligible Non-Citizens May Vote in the Nov. 5 School Board Election

Local law allows certain non-citizens to register and vote in San Francisco’s Board of Education (School Board) elections. Non-Citizen voters should register using the NCV Registration Form. Non-Citizens cannot use the state voter registration form or register at the DMV. Learn more.

Know what career you'd like to pursue?
Talk to your school counselor about joining a Career Technical Education (CTE) program. Examples include Teacher Academy and Game Design Academy. CTE prepares students for careers in 12 different industry sectors.

Transit Alert! 

The Muni Metro Twin Peaks Tunnel that connects Castro Station, Forest Hill Station, and West Portal Station will be closed for repairs from Thursday, Aug. 22 - Thursday, Aug. 29, affecting K, L, and M transit lines. What is the Resource Alignment Initiative?
To better serve our students with the limited resources available, SFUSD is creating a new portfolio of schools which will include recommending school closures, mergers, and co-locations for the 2025-26 school year. Equity is a foundational principle for SFUSD in this process. 
Some SFUSD students had internships through College and Career Readiness. 
Calianne Sok (George Washington HS) interned at Culinary Artistas. 
SFUSD joins the nation in celebrating Latinx Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 to highlight the diversity, brilliance, and beauty of the Latinx community!
