Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your interim superintendent for SFUSD.
During this period of transition, I plan to support district staff with moving forward the challenging and mission critical work at hand. We have already identified what we want SFUSD to look like in a decade (see Vision 2025) and have mapped out our steps to get there (see Transform Learning. Transform Lives and the LCAP).
With these and other well-thought-out plans in place, let’s all work together to provide positive experiences and rich opportunities for all our students to increasingly prepare them for success for life.
—Myong Leigh, Interim Superintendent

Know your rights: No fees for essential school activities |
All students have a right to take part in educational activities at school without paying a fee, deposit or other charge. An "educational activity" is an activity offered by a school or school district that is an integral part of a student's education, including, but not limited to, curricular and extracurricular activity. Schools cannot charge or request a deposit for materials, physical education uniforms, or graduation caps and gowns that are required to take part in an educational activity.
- For more details about the rights of parents and guardians, please see Your Child's Education: Things You Should Know
- For more details on what fees can and cannot be charged at school, please see Assembly Bill No. 1575
- If you have been charged a fee for an educational activity, you can request a reimbursement and/or file a uniform complaint. If you are a parent and still have questions or concerns about fees, please contact the Office of Family Voice at 415-241-6150.
